Cancellation Policy
At Visit La Fortuna (VLF), we believe transportation should be seamless, safe, and stress-free. That’s why we carefully select each driver and transport provider we work with — ensuring every partner is reliable, professional, and aligned with our commitment to excellent service. Please review the following policies to help make your journey as smooth as possible. Pick-Up Location & Timing Private transfers offer door-to-door service. Your driver will meet you at your selected location — whether that’s the airport, your hotel, or a private residence. For airport pickups: SJO (San José): Pick-up takes place outside the La Malinche Restaurant, which is located just across the street from the arrivals terminal on the right-hand side. Coordination with your driver will be arranged via WhatsApp prior to pickup. LIR (Liberia): Your driver will meet you outside the terminal exit with clear instructions sent in advance. Please aim to be at the designated pickup point on time and notify us of any delays (e.g., extended baggage wait) via WhatsApp at +506 6460 2217. Modifications & Cancellations Free Modifications: Changes made 48+ hours in advance are free of charge. Last-Minute Modifications (under 48 hrs): We’ll do our best to accommodate, but changes may be subject to availability or incur a fee. Cancellations: 72+ hours before departure: No cancellation fee. Less than 72 hours: 100% cancellation fee. No-shows: Treated as cancellations; fare is non-refundable. Luggage Allowance Each passenger may bring 1 standard suitcase + 1 carry-on. Please notify us in advance if you have extra, oversized, or special luggage (e.g., surfboards, sports equipment) to ensure the correct vehicle is assigned. VLF and our partners are not responsible for lost or unattended items. Pets & Service Animals Well-behaved pets are welcome on private transfers with prior notice. Service animals are always welcome. Other Important Policies Grace period: Drivers allow a 15-minute grace period at pick-up before wait-time fees may apply. A fuel or route surcharge may apply in rare cases (e.g., remote pickup or road closures) and will be disclosed in advance. Legal matters are subject to Costa Rica Jurisdiction.
